Ever since I can remember, social situations felt impossible and caused instant anxiety as soon as I was aware that I had to leave the comfort of my home.
I became the queen of excuses, bailing last minute or just straight up not showing up and then disappearing off the radar because I was too embarrassed to ever explain why I just couldn't bring myself to come. It was an endless cycle of anticipation anxiety, a build up of worst case scenarios followed by physical reactions in my body like a constant upset stomach, heart palpitations, visibly shaking and shallow breathing.
As the years went by, friends and family stopped trying to be a part of my life and soon the comfort of my home started to feel like a prison. I hit rock bottom and realized that if I don't make some serious changes and make healing my life a priority, than five years from now I will either be in the same spot or even decline to an even deeper state of anxiety and depression.
Rock bottom was my saving grace and the huge wake up call that I desperately needed. I finally committed to going ALL IN. I went to therapy and learned all the skills, tools and techniques, I studied Social Anxiety and read every book, scholarly article, research study, scientific findings and psychology magazine that I could get my hands on. I even interviewed people who had struggled with Social Anxiety and overcame it! I couldn't help but notice incredible correlations with their healing and their success.
I set out to create a methodology out of my research, my interviews and my own personal findings. I tested it on myself and could not believe that I had made more progress in six weeks than I had in over 6 years. This changed EVERYTHING FOR ME. I decided I needed to make it my mission to help others who are suffering in the same way that I once was. I needed them to know that there is hope.
I received my Wellness Coaching Certification from the International Association of Wellness Professionals and my career instantly took off as an Anxiety Coach. I was interviewed by the Institution's CEO's and featured as their student success story on their website, featured on radio talk shows, blogs, pod casts and more to discuss all of my client's success with my Social Anxiety Success Program!
